Vulcan Raven was a member of FOXHOUND who carried a vulcan cannon. Raven also had a tattoo of a raven, the bird that the Eskimos and Inuits worship, on his forehead. Raven was born and raised in Alaska by his parents and took part in the Eskimo-Indian Olympics where he excelled at the "Ear Pull." Raven would then go to Russia, where he would first meet Revolver Ocelot. After falling out of favor with the Russian government, Raven became a mercenary for hire.
Raven would later join FOXHOUND where he began carrying a M61 Vulcan cannon. He and his FOXHOUND commrades, with the help of the Genome Army, attacked the Shadow Moses nuclear disposal facility in 2005 and captured the new version of Metal Gear, Metal Gear Rex. Raven fought Solid Snake twice during the incident, the first time while Raven was operating an Abrams M1 Tank, which Snake was able to defeat using grenades. Snake fight Raven again and this time kill him in a warehouse near the underground base that housed Metal Gear. Before dying, Raven told Snake that the Darpa Chief that Snake had seen die in front of his eyes was actually Decoy Octopus. Then Vulcan Raven was eaten by his Ravens.
