Vamp became a master with knives, and he used this skill to join Dead Cell. While a member of Dead Cell, Vamp met fellow Dead Cell member Fortune and the two developed a close bond. He also met Fortune's father, U.S. Marine Commander Scott Dolph, who became Vamp's lover. 

In 2009, Vamp joined Dead Cell in taking over the Big Shell. During the incident, Vamp slaughtered the Alpha team of Seal Team 10 without much effort at all. Vamp also piloted a Harrier, but Raiden and Solid Snake were able shoot him down. Vamp then fought Raiden again in the Shell 2 core, where Raiden was able to defeat him. Vamp appeared again when Emma Emmerich was trying to cross the oil fence to get to Shell 1. Vamp stabbed Emma, giving her fatal injuries which would lead to her death, before Raiden was able to shoot Vamp in the head for the second time. Vamp survived, and appears in the street at New York City watching Raiden, Snake, and Rose.

5 years later, Vamp would join hands with Liquid Ocelot in aiding his effort of creating a perfect world for Outer Heaven. And only one has a chance of ending his immortality, Raiden.
