Liquid Snake is one of the three clones of Big Boss created from the Les Enfants Terribles project, and the mastermind behind the terrorist takeover at Shadow Moses. He is completely identical to Solid Snake, and holds a strong resentment towards him, believing himself to be the inferior clone. One of his goals, aside from a second attempt at "Outer Heaven," is to defeat his brother in combat and reclaim his birthright.
Liquid was raised in the UK, and joined FOXHOUND in the year 2000, after Snake and Roy Campbell had already left the unit. Five years later, he was leading FOXHOUND at Shadow Moses, seizing control of Metal Gear Rex and demanding that the White House give up Big Boss' remains, one billion dollars, and the FOXDIE vaccine. He intends to use Big Boss' remains to cure himself and the Genome Soldiers of genetic defects, and the FOXDIE vaccine to make himself immune to the deadly disease Snake has unknowingly infected him with.
After the "accidental" death of the DARPA Chief during the interrogation for his detonation code, Liquid is forced to find another way to activate Rex, and thus he poses as Master Miller, an old friend of Snake's, and manipulates him into inputting the PAL codes. However, Snake once again manages to destroy Metal Gear. Liquid eventually dies of the FOXDIE virus that Snake infects him with. However, his arm is transplanted onto Revolver Ocelot, and he is able to take over his mind, awakening whenever Snake is near.
Liquid would vanish to the middle east and start building Outer Haven. Now, in search of the SOP, he wishes to use it to control and understand the nanomachines of the modern soldier. There is only one man who can stand against him, Solid Snake...
