Jim Houseman/ Age (Shadow Moses 60's) Deceased
Jim Houseman is the United States Secretary of Defence, and the man in charge of the mission at Shadow Moses. However, his only real objective was to gain possession of the optic disk containing all of Metal Gear's test data. The DARPA Chief, Donald Anderson, was supposed to deliver this disk to him, as he and Houseman were close friends.
After discovering that Anderson was already dead and the disk already lost, Houseman had Colonel Campbell arrested and ordered a nuclear strike on Shadow Moses Island, intending to cover up the whole incident. The strike would have destroyed the island and everyone on it, including Snake, Liquid, Otacon and Meryl. However, Houseman was arrested and the strike was cancelled by Richard Ames, who was under orders from the Patriots.
Houseman died soon after the Shadow Moses incident, supposedly from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. However, there are suspicions that his death was no accident.
